Affinity with rural industries:
I am a country based practitioner with a strong background in family farming in merino sheep and superfine wool, beef and dairy cattle, horses and cropping. I have long experience in farming practices both on my own property and business, and from my family farming. This has equipped me with insights and affinity into succession planning/conflict management, financial management, wills and estates, and asset management. I understand the complexities of weather and variable income streams, and the needs for off farm income.
My prior experience on the Government and Related Employees Appeal Tribunal (GREAT) directly exposed me to mediation and problem solving skills, along with now 34 years experience across the NSW and Commonwealth Government/military sectors. I bring considerable experience and expertise from Australia and around the world, and have a passion for agriculture and rural communities. I have previously completed Farm Debt Mediation training with the NSW Rural Assistance Authority (RAA) at Parramatta, and am aware of the requirements of the Farm Debt Mediation Act 1994 and the role of the RAA, and banks/financial institutions. I am a seasoned mediator and welcome the opportunity to make a contribution.
